ORTHOMOTION offers its clients access to the XFT-2001 Foot Drop System, an advanced functional electrical stimulation assistive device for people experiencing foot drop and mobility impairment.

The XFT-2001 adopts advanced gait sensor technology to control the time and duration of electrical stimulation by tracking the swing angle and speed of a client’s leg. The XFT-2001 delivers electrical pulses to the peroneal nerve to control the movement of the lower leg muscles and raise the foot at an appropriate gait phase.

The foot drop system is a small, easy to use and discrete device which can be used in readily available everyday footwear.

The XFT operates in both a walking mode and training mode. In walking mode, the system helps to correct gait through active muscle contraction. In training mode, users are offered 10 built-in levels of intensive training to prevent atrophy.

Clients using the XFT-2001 for rehabilitation training for foot drop can experience improvements in gait over time, as well as reduced energy consumption. The XFT can significantly enhance muscle strength, coordination and balance and improved range of motion of the ankle joint.
